The local ice cream truck brings a surprisingly large selection of frozen treats directly to me, or at least to my parking lot. This is good. Over the weekend, I got to ride a horse for the first time since I was twelve. One of my mother's part-time instructors owns a stable with about eighteen horses (most of which are boarded), and she invited us out for a trail ride after her Saturday riding lessons were over. After three days of using the ellipticals at the YMCA, I think I'm pretty well sold on them. My knees do not cry! The fact that I do not go as fast on them as I do on a treadmill upsets me (I liked my ten-minute miles), but I figure that giving my arms something to do with themselves is worth the trade-off.
